I was born in Dublin, Ireland, and grew up in a small village called Ashford, located in County Wicklow. From an early age, I knew I wanted to work in either music or film. My dad was in the business, so it was inevitable that I would be exposed to the industry from a young age. I recall my first memory of being on a TV set. I was roughly eight years old. I was an extra in an Irish series called Ballykissangel. The scene for the day was some locals from a town enjoying a funfair. I was one the locals. I had to eat ice cream and play on different rides. At the end of the day, I got paid. That was it. There was no turning back.
Since then, I have spent years working on sets for movies and TV shows, including King Arthur, The Tudors, and Camelot. I have collaborated on numerous short films, zero-budget music videos, fashion, and passion projects, all of which I am extremely grateful to have been a part of.
This led me onto my journey of storytelling through directing. I found my voice in TV commercials, they gave me an opportunity to experiment and get creative. I’ve directed campaigns across the world, collaborating with agencies including Hakuhodo Japan, JWT, and Havas, to name a few. Over the years, I have won a number of awards, and my work has been acknowledged by British Arrows, Shots, and Creative Floor.
When it comes to script, I always root for the underdog. I love a good antihero. Psychopaths scare the shit out of me, but in my humble opinion, they make some of the greatest characters ever written.
